Danube River 1997

Our first joint foray to Europe found us on our first (and only!) cruise, a treat from Steve’s aunt Jan.This was a Danube River cruise which started in Passau, Germany. Our boat was a typical European river cruise boat (barge), the Donauprinzessin. Just over 200 passengers.

From Passau we went east, passing by Linz and stopping in Melk. Then we docked in lovely Vienna. We were supposed to sail to Bratislava and then on to Budapest, but the water level in the river was too low! So Vienna was it as far as cruising went although we took an overnight tour (via bus) to beautiful Budapest where we had a wonderful time.

Most of our time was spent in Vienna, which we did not regret.

We took a few photographs.
